Network Environment andAuthentication Prerequisites
• Local admininstration rights required for all servers to be targeted
• Targeted domains are made visible inthe Network Neighbourhood
• WMI, Remote Registry, Perfmon, andfi le & print services enabled on eachmachine
• Ports 135-139 & 445 available
• Target Servers have latest patchupdates
• If proxy server is present, user ID,password, and port number required
• Network speed to remote office is sufficient (bandwidth required to collect performance stats in an hour; determined by number of servers andcounters)
• If there are servers in DMZ to be monitored, then a separate Collector would be installed within the DMZ.(depends on firewall)
• Anonomised data will be sent to VMware for comparative analysis
• End User requires knowledge ofthe physical server estate (including locations) and has Administrative access to these servers:Machine for Data Collection
• Min. >500MHz CPU; Windows2000 or higher
• 2GB of disk space
